We had another great stay at Chewton with a lovely room and efficient, friendly service. Only disappointment was the move to buffet service breakfast on days 2 & 3 which we felt inappropriate for a hotel of this standard. External paintwork beginning to look a touch shabby also.
Excellent stay. This is our first stay away from home since March '20 - and they made us feel safe and secure. The suite was lovely and the terrace spacious. Food in the dining room was a very good standard and the choice of wines excellent.
Considering hotels have been shut for five months they should be applauded for running so smoothly and adapting to COVID protocols which they do very well. Our room (3) was very comfortable, service attentive after the odd prod. The restaurant serves accomplished food accompanied by a very serious (if pricey, x 4 retail markup) wine list. Frankly we didn’t care what it cost, it was just great to be liberated.
From arrival to departure the staff could not have been more helpful. During these strange times at no point did I feel uncomfortable, staff were adhering to all government guidelines in a very understated way that did not feel intrusive. Everything about the hotel was fabulous, could not fault it at all.
