In early 20th-century Paris, a community of Czech artists laid the foundations of Cubism, pioneered by Otto Gutfreund and Emil Filla. Their legacy has been folded into the reinvention of this 14th-century Prague monastery. The modern furnishings highlight the history of the place, while the vestiges of the past – religious statues, frescoes, and decorated ceilings – serve as a reminder that beauty is ageless. A library straight out of an Umberto Eco novel houses century-old volumes, whilst the Refectory Bar is a hub for Prague’s creative scene. Beneath the bridges linking past and present flows the Vltava.
