Suites and villas make the most of the altitude, with an understated mountain-house feel, dramatic views and pools seemingly set at the edge of the cliffs. At Juniper, named for the trees that grow around Nizwa, Mishkak brings together several kinds of meat with fresh pomegranates picked on the estate. At the Rose Lounge, the same local fruit finds a sweeter expression in a sorbet scented with rose, served against a backdrop of blue sky and sheer mountains. Even the spa treatments make the most of the setting, with massages enjoyed outdoors to a backdrop of the Al Hajar peaks.
