Danieli, Venezia, a Four Seasons Hotel

Danieli mirrors the meeting of three distinct architectural identities on the Grand Canal, steps away from San Marco at Riva delgi Schiavoni. Palazzo Dandolo, the property's neo-gothical centerpiece, has been sitting there since the fourteenth century, when it was still a palazzo belonging to the eponymous family. Since it first received guests in 1822, Giuseppe Dal Niel's (nicknamed "Danieli") atmoshere feels untouched to this day, from piano melodies at the bar to scenic views of the laguna at the restaurant and the Presidential Suite's decor travelling through time. Furthermore, the lobby and atrium take your breath away with graphic balustrades, hundreds of colonnas and a sculpted staircase that all look like a work of art. Danieli has throughout history been a place of first choice for writers - such as Charles Dickens or George Sand (who lived a tumultuous relationship with Alfred de Musset there) - and major cultural figures by the name of Greta Garbo, Coco Chanel, Elizabeth Taylor and many more.
