Faena Miami Beach

Three creative minds shaped this residence: entrepreneur Alain Faena, filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, and production and costume designer Catherine Martin. The original 1948 structure retains its pristine façade, but once inside, a more cinematic vision unfolds in dramatic reds, marble, and gold leaf, which serve as an opening sequence announcing the venue’s distinctive character. Eight gold-leaf murals by Juan Gatti feature astrological and animal motifs in the signature color palette, while guest rooms echo the operatic flair of the entrance with fine materials, exquisite finishes, details reminiscent of a cabinet of curiosities, and bold, expressive color schemes. The cinematic narrative continues throughout the property, as a cabaret-style theater hosts concerts and performances year-round, and works by artists such as Tracey Emin and Damian Hirst highlight the hotel’s deep artistic roots. Below lies Faena Beach, dotted with two-tone parasols like soft-serve ice cream. Renowned for his expansive, theatrical culinary style, Chef Francis Mallmann has found the perfect stage here, showcasing a menu centered on meat.
