Stone, steel and glass give the Four Seasons Hotel Doha a distinctly European air, as its two towers rise above the Gulf. Inside, Georgian-style windows draw daylight deep into the vast ground-floor interiors, where marble floors and crystal chandeliers set a suitably grand tone. Arched details nod to the Alhambra, while shades of blue, sand and brass quietly bring the decoration back to Qatar. The suites are softer in mood, with generous proportions, pale tones and layers of tactile fabrics. Contemporary mashrabiya and discreet Arab touches keep the interiors connected to the region without weighing them down. At Nobu, the King Crab Leg with Shiso Salsa needs little embellishment; while at Curiosa by Jean-Georges, fish tacos bring a fresher, sea-salted note to the table. The next day, Afternoon Tea at Seasons Tea Lounge leads naturally to the hammam, where a little time in the steam leaves both body and mind restored.
