Hacienda AltaGracia

Some places begin long before you arrive. Here, the journey is either along the coast or by private aircraft, the sort of approach that makes the landscape feel like part of the address rather than simply the setting for it. Fifty casitas are scattered across seventy hectares of wild coastline, some with their own pools, each with the feeling of a private house. Their interiors seem almost carved from the surroundings, with quiet colours, natural materials and local craftsmanship giving them an easy sense of place. The public spaces are arranged rather like a village square, complete with small shops and a café. At the centre, Grano explores the local cuisine through a seasonal menu, with fish, fruit and vegetables taking the lead. The landscape finds its way into the spa, too. Local plants and oils inform the treatments, while ancient rituals provide the starting point for the therapists’ work.
