Just an hour from London, and surrounded by 400 acres of woodland, gardens and lakes with the open countryside beyond, Heckfield Place is the former home of Lord Eversley, and it’s a magical Georgian house you can check into for a night.
Design-wise, Heckfield Place is all about warmth and homeliness. Persian rugs, original fireplaces, a mixture of contemporary, mid-century and antique furniture, and drawing rooms in subtle shades of blush rose, forest green and grey. There are just 45 rooms...

Such a peaceful and stylish place. We especially loved the walks, afternoon tea and the ‘farm to table’ philosophy of Heckfield Place. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful Georgian house, very peaceful. Felt like a real retreat. Gorgeous grounds and very good food. A great place to escape. 1 night and 2 days felt like a weeks break. Service very good and our room was gorgeous.

Heckfield wonderful place ! We were warmly welcomed and check in was pleasant and seamless. A welcome drink made with their own fig leaf cordial was a very nice touch. We were shown around the hotel and then to our room….wow! Heckfield place is beautiful, the decor, the architecture, furniture and furnishings are all superb. Match this with excellent quality food and drink , served by polite and attentive staff, makes Heckfield one of the top hotels we have had the pleasure of staying in. IWe would not hesitate to book again- in fact we did! We checked out on Tuesday morning to go on to another hotel (supposedly better than Heckfield) but it was not! My partner called Heckfield to ask if we could go back for another 2 nights, they kindly reserved us the same room we had been in, and after advising us to call GLH to make the confirmation, we were on our way back. Again we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed the rest of our stay immensely.
