Las Ventanas al Paraiso, a Rosewood Resort

A pioneer on the Los Cabos coastline, this property was the first to offer a true window on paradise, as the name so elegantly suggests. Set amidst a wild, desert landscape, it presents a distinctive take on the terrain, with low-slung white stucco buildings, cacti, mosaics, and driftwood accents in a residence looking out over the Gulf of California and its sometimes temperamental waters. The interiors embrace the local aesthetic; guests enter through heavy cedar arches, across uneven stone floors that wind past frescoes painted by artist Alberto Grave. From the window, one can gaze at the heavens through a telescope or spot migrating whales as they venture close to the shore. At the resort’s signature restaurant, Arbol, set within a ‘forest’ of sculptural trees, coastal dishes blend Asian influences with Indian and Eastern spices, while the Sea Grill serves up smoked and – naturally – grilled seafood.
