Two towers rise like scimitars above the marina, echoing the emblem of the country. Inside, a theatrical 42-metre atrium takes the shape of an hourglass, glowing beneath crystal lights. Across the ceiling, moving projections follow the changing sky from morning to night, as gold, marble and rich timber bring a sense of grandeur to the interiors, while traditional patterns appear in the carpets. More intimate corners include a cigar lounge and tea room. The sea-facing suites have the feel of private residences. Distinctive furnishings, carefully curated books, sculptural textures and traditional details bring warmth to the expansive interiors, with the landscape always close at hand. On the second floor, the Aqua Pool seems to carry swimmers towards the Arabian Gulf. At Alba, Italian classics take centre stage: Acquerello risotto with scampi and pistachio, smoked bluefin tuna tartare, and beef cheek braised in Barolo. High above it all, the Acoustic Penthouse pairs live music with cocktails such as the Moonwalk, a mix of gin, butterfly-pea soda and lime.
