Rosewood Schloss Fuschl

Hof bei Salzburg, Austria

Rosewood Schloss Fuschl

Schloss Fuschl is best reached by water or through the woods of the Salzkammergut. The former 15th-century hunting lodge, built for European nobility, retains its Renaissance paintings and Baroque sculptures, which you can explore on the hotel’s art tours. The lake provides the ingredients for the kitchen; Gerhard Langmeier, Fuschl’s master fisherman since 1987, smokes the fish served at the Fischerei himself, where guests can dine after the boat crossing. Romy Schneider filmed the Sissi trilogy here, and the hotel’s tea room is named after her.
