Soori Bali

Tabanan, Indonesia

Soori Bali

To the left, terraced rice fields reflect the blue sky; to the right lies the black sand of volcanic beaches. Amidst this cinematic landscape, villas and pavilions designed by Soo K. Chan reveal modernist lines through soaring floor-to-ceiling windows, teak terraces, and pools of translucent water. Inside, a touch of urban chic contrasts with the overwhelming presence of the surrounding nature; guests sleep amidst shades of white and grey, moving to the rhythm of the sun rising and setting over the cresting waves of the Indian Ocean. By day, guests have the delightful dilemma of choosing between the intimate Keiyo, with its counter-side teppanyaki, and Cotta, for its Ikan Sambal Matah grilled fish with papaya. If in doubt, indulge in both.
