The Chedi Muscat
This is a place of contrasts, where crisp white façades are framed by dark timber windows, while inside, carefully ordered gardens open onto a grand entrance hall with the feel of a local fort. This coastal retreat sits lightly in the landscape, its suites spread across low-rise pavilions, giving the grounds the feel of a small village rather than a single building. Inside, the same balance continues: clean lines and gentle colours sit alongside patterned rugs and traditional lighting, bringing a distinctly local character to the minimalist interiors. Three pools offer cooler corners around the grounds, including one that seems to spill straight into the sea. Under arches inspired by the surrounding architecture, hung with glittering crystal, four open kitchens become part of the theatre of the dining room. Their menus move freely between Western, Asian, Indian and Middle Eastern influences.
