The Greenwich Hotel
An iconic neighbourhood calls for an iconic figure. Born of Robert De Niro’s boundless imagination, this establishment - steeped in historical, local and cinematic references - stands proudly in the heart of TriBeCa, despite not always having been there. Built from the ground up, it embodies a certain vision of New York in its traditional brick façade. Meanwhile, distinctive rooms reflect the city’s cultural melting pot; the garden serves as an urban escape; and the library is packed with paintings by Robert De Niro Sr., reminiscent of an elegant Park Avenue residence. Surprisingly, the Shibui Spa’s basement pool echoes the geometric shapes and woodwork of a Japanese farmhouse. Just like the city itself, the residence never fully reveals its most singular charms.
