Vila Vita Parc

Porches, Portugal

Vila Vita Parc

In the workshop at Vila Vita Parc, in Porches, azulejos are painted using 17th-century techniques, with the pigments and motifs of flora and fauna that have been a staple of Portuguese ceramics ever since. At Ocean, Hans Neuner presents Essência, a menu comprising some 15 courses rooted in Portuguese traditions that he has been refining for years. The estate’s Moorish arches open onto subtropical gardens that come to an abrupt halt at the cliff’s edge, with a secluded beach below. From the neighbouring Praia da Marinha, the Seven Hanging Valleys trail winds its way from one natural arch to the next.
