Kitzbühel hotels collection

The arms of Kitzbühel have long shown a chamois climbing three green hills, on a silver ground. Yet the town lived off what lay beneath: copper, then silver, sought in galleries dug right under the Hahnenkamm. Two parallel streets, the Vorderstadt and the Hinterstadt, line up gabled houses painted in pale colours. On the Streif, the piste drops into the Mausefalle, a jump whose name, the mousetrap, says enough about the welcome. In summer the Schwarzsee, a bog lake, turns brown and warm, and one swims facing the grey limestone walls of the Wilder Kaiser.
