Amalfi Coast hotels collection

On the Amalfi Coast, everything happens vertically. Lemon trees grow on terraces beneath chestnut pergolas, the houses of Positano pile up down to the beach, the road folds into hairpins above a sea glimpsed between two bends. Amalfi keeps its cathedral with its great staircase and the memory of a maritime republic; Ravello, at the top, looks down the coast from gardens where Wagner found his Klingsor. Cetara still salts its anchovies the old way. One walks a great deal here, mostly uphill, and soon understands why the locals have steady calves and a short stride.
