Shizuoka hotels collection

Shizuoka has Mount Fuji opposite, across Suruga Bay, and sees it mostly in winter, when the air turns dry. On the Miho peninsula, a pine grove runs along a shingle beach; Hiroshige framed the mountain there between trunks bent by the wind. A stone stairway climbs from the shore to the shrine of Kunōzan; tea covers the Abe valley. Upstream, at Utogi, wasabi grows in beds of gravel with spring water running through them; it is from this village, so it is held, that its cultivation spread.
