Canouan Island hotels collection

Land tortoises cross Canouan's tracks, unhurried, and the island's name comes from a Carib word for turtle. The land is dry, all grassy hills; only Mount Royal keeps a remnant of forest at its summit. Along the east coast, a coral barrier reef holds back the swell; behind it, the water lies flat over white sand. A short boat ride away, the Tobago Cays keep green turtles in their seagrass, sea turtles this time, grazing close to the seabed.
