Pierre Frey at the Grand Contrôle
Pierre Frey is one of the links between Jacques Garcia and the Château de Versailles, having worked with both over the years. At the Grand Contrôle - a Louis XIV building within the royal Château’s estate, opened as a hotel by Airelles in 2021 - the textile house went back to the archives for a project rooted in the Château’s own collections. Period patterns were brought back to life and given a contemporary expression across the curtains, armchairs and bed linens of the hotel’s suites. Among them is L’Églantier, a motif rediscovered in the Château’s archives and faithfully reissued by Maison Pierre Frey for the L’Orangerie Room.
