Haymarket Hotel

In a quintessentially Regency building designed by the architect John Nash, who also designed familiar London landmarks like Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace, the interior designer and hotel owner Kit Kemp has left her instantly recognisable mark, in an interior full of delicate details. Infused with British spirit, the decor is floral and uplifting, and the richly coloured rooms and suites have a whimsical feel. With de Gournay wallpaper, a Donald Urquhart drawing in the lift, and candy-pink walls in the restaurant, the pleasure the interior designer took in creating the perfect retreat is infectious. Renowned as much for its impeccable menu as for its like-minded clientele, Brumus – named in honour of her beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel – is the epicentre of local social life.
