Dorado Beach, a Ritz Carlton Reserve

With structures kept no higher than the palm trees, and facades in organic, mineral tones, the property feels embraced by the wild landscape all around. Common areas are shaped by their surroundings, with exotic wood, stone, and coral, and enhanced by contemporary artworks selected and frequently rotated by the local Arte FITS foundation. In the suites, ubiquitous floor-to-ceiling windows make the outdoors an integral part of the living space; as interiors blend with the setting in a soft colour palette and traditionally inspired furnishings to foster a sense of harmony with the more than 300,000 surrounding plants. Centred around open-flame cooking, Coa restaurant highlights Puerto Rican seafood and local produce. Meanwhile, a centuries-old ficus tree marks the entrance to a spa where plants and herbs lend spiritual depth to ancient healing rituals.
