In Andermatt, you can strap on snowshoes and follow llamas through the frozen valleys, with a fondue served al fresco on your return. The cable car can take you up to The Japanese at Gütsch for a four-course lunch overlooking mountain passes, lakes and waterfalls, whilst the two-Michelin-starred The Japanese Restaurant continues this blend of Alpine and Japanese cuisine down below. Jörg Arnold, succeeded by Thomas Goval in September 2026, established the hotel’s presence in the village with La Tavolata, tables set up all along the streets.
