Built at the height of the Belle Époque on the Palermo shoreline, Villa Igiea is an Art Nouveau palazzo once designed by Ernesto Basile for the influential Florio family. After a grand revamp by Olga Polizzi, it is now a Rocco Forte hotel.
It feels like a relic of Palermo’s golden age. The sun-soaked gardens, the frescoes, the chandeliers and the dynastic antiques... everything here speaks of the former glory of Villa Igiea, when it was the palazzo of the influential Florio family. It was late...
