Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills

At the corner of Wilshire and Santa Monica, a distinctly Californian scene plays out. It reinterprets Hollywood glamour through an architectural blend of white stone, glass, and sweeping curves, into which designer Pierre-Yves Rochon has woven subtle nods to Hollywood’s Golden Age. The public spaces feature local touches, from veined marble and oversized floral arrangements to a palette of pearlescent fabrics that exude understated charm. Guest rooms feature elongated balconies offering an elevated perspective of the city. On the 12th floor, the heated pool is framed by yuccas and palm trees, facing the distant hills, while up on the rooftop, the menu at Gemma offers bold Pan-Asian cuisine facing the Santa Monica Mountains – dim sum, sushi, grilled Japanese wagyu or Maine lobster bear vivid witness to it.

Accommodations

What we like

The Suite

The Presidential Penthouse Suite is all about the view, with Noir Saint Laurent marble adding a rich, graphic note to the setting.

The Cocktail

Gemma’s Watermelon Mirage comes with a side of celestial theatre, within the bar’s terracotta-toned interior.

The Breakfast

Breakfast is hardly a restrained affair: a cinnamon roll generously iced, with Petrossian caviar on the side if the mood takes you.
