Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem

Less than a kilometre from the Jaffa Gate, the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is set in the old Palace Hotel, around a glass atrium, where Art Deco arches, marble and arched windows preserve the memory of the eras they've lived through. At the Palace, history is very much present at the Shabbat dinner. Up on the fourth floor, olive trees surround the open kitchen and tables of the Mediterranean garden. At the King's Court, afternoon tea is savoured on gilt silverware, with house pastries and loose-leaf teas. At the bar, the Jerusalem of Gold mixes whisky from the M&H distillery and cherry wine syrup – our favourite. The hammams extend that mineral freshness, while evening slowly descends on the eternal city.
