Mallorca hotels collection

The Tramuntana divides Mallorca into two sides that bear little resemblance to each other. On the mountain side, olive terraces held by dry-stone walls, the orange groves of Sóller, Deià clinging to its slope where Robert Graves wrote until the end, Valldemossa and the bell tower of its charterhouse, clad in green tiles. On the plain side, almond trees flowering in February, windmills, farmhouses whitewashed with lime. Palma, between the two, raises its cathedral of golden sandstone facing the harbour. At the end of the road, Cape Formentor drops into water one would swear was lit from below.
