Tabanan hotels collection

No field in Tabanan is flooded without the say of a temple: each subak, the association of farmers who share a single channel, sets the order in which the paddies take the water. That water comes down from Lake Bratan, where Ulun Danu sets its tiered roofs of black palm fibre at the water's edge, and from the slopes of Batukaru, whose sanctuary stands in the forest among the mosses. At Jatiluwih, the terraces follow every fold of the mountain and yield a red rice. The coast, below, receives what is left on black sand.
