Ballyfin hotels collection

Of Dunamase Castle, set on a limestone outcrop amid the pastures of Laois, nothing remains but gutted walls, the grass slowly creeping over them. Ballyfin lies further west, at the foot of the Slieve Bloom, rounded sandstone hills under blanket bog and conifers, where the Barrow rises and falls away over ledges of rock. At Timahoe, the round tower opens its door well above the ground, framed by carved heads with long beards and drooping moustaches.
