Tokyo hotels collection

Against all expectation, Tokyo is a quiet city. Trains draw into the station without a sound, doors slide, voices drop a tone on crossing a threshold. Beneath the zelkovas of Omotesando, the glass and concrete façades of the country's great architects stand in line without getting in each other's way; a few steps on, the forest of the Meiji shrine muffles the entire city. Yanaka has kept its wooden houses and neighbourhood temples, Ginza its polished pavements. The Sumida river runs through all of it without hurrying. One soon learns to lower one's own voice.
