Amanera

The 25 rooms in this residence are strung like pearls along a wild, unspoiled coastline. Seemingly suspended in the local environment, the minimalist architecture provides a counterpoint to the lyrical vegetation all around. At its heart, the communal areas are organized around pools that reflect the shadows of the buildings and the sun’s rays. Interiors are defined by distinctive furnishings and a play of materials, including concrete, marble, and wood, that harmonises with local touches like Aguayo tiles. The spa draws on ancestral, plant-based rituals, inheriting wisdom passed down by the shamans of the local community. At the clifftop restaurant Casa Grande, local cuisine is rooted in the ocean and nearby farms, explored in depth through dishes such as tuna ceviche with leche de tigre, grouper tiradito, and Dominican-style poultry. To round out the evening, a singular club invites guests to discover local rums and cigars.
