Consistently good hotel with charming and helpful staff in luxurious surroundings. I love the cigar lounge, a real treat in cold weather.

The hotel is a lovely old grande dame, but could use a few tweaks to be fully 5 star. On the positive, the staff were lovely (from reception to in-room dining to valets) and the spa was a wonderful experience. Areas of improvement: amenities in room were disappointing (no conditioner, no bath salts, no coffee/tea machine). I had a beautiful view in my room (thank you L'artisien for the upgrade!) and the food from in-room dining was delicious and well prepared. Breakfast also a delight.
