Here, Kit Kemp, owner and creative genius of the place, sets mahogany woodwork around majestic sofas upholstered in patterned fabrics, vases turned into lamps, and a few deliciously daft details, like the little watering cans on the mantelpiece of the Terrace Suite. In a nod to the theatres all around, the libraries and salons take on a theatrical air — as does the plate of chips at Brasserie Max, which keeps you company through the Martini Hour, weekdays from five to six. And as is customary across the group's hotels, you finish with a film in the dedicated screening room.
