This Belle Époque palace, steeped in more than 160 years of history, captures the essence of the Riviera and its rare flavour, with notes of sun-drenched parties and languorous days in the pages of novels. A renovation, carried out in 2019 by Pierre-Yves Rochon, has in no way diminished its intimate charm, despite its palatial appearance. By streamlining the lines and allowing more light to flood in, he has added a contemporary touch to the moulded walls, restoring the Art Deco details to the sparkling modernity they carried within them. The interior gardens, with their palm trees flanked by colonnades – which witnessed the royal wedding of Prince Rainier of Monaco and Grace Kelly in 1956 – remain faithful witnesses to those years that have made the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo a legendary address, steeped in history. Today, it attracts a wide range of discerning palates. Le Louis XV, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant under the guidance of Alain Ducasse; the Grill beneath the summer stars; a Lebanese restaurant; a whole world dedicated to sweet treats overseen by Cédric Grolet; and a wine cellar housing 450,000 bottles all provide unashamedly hedonistic indulgence.
