Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo

Since its inception during the Belle Époque in 1886, the Métropole Monte-Carlo has retained an instinct for unexpected aesthetic touches. You might notice the medallions worn by your hosts, depicting a ship, to show that the hotel offers journeys without moving. This sensibility is the signature that inspired Karl Lagerfeld to design his only swimming pool: the Odyssey, complete with a mythological fresco watching over you while you do your lengths. The Jacques Garcia-designed rooms and suites reflect this same penchant for spaces conceived as boudoirs, for private retreat. Rare objects, fine materials and warm colours combine to create an atmosphere of gentle warmth. The restaurants – a two-Michelin-starred table with a classic yet contemporary menu, and an intimate Japanese restaurant – extend the first impression created by the lobby, with its works by Picasso, Bacon and Warhol. A hotel which transports guests to a singular world of its own.
