Il Salviatino

Florence, Italy

Il Salviatino

Nestled within a five-hectare park in the hills of Fiesole lies a unique Tuscan gem, just a few kilometres from Florence. This 15th-century palace has kept its Renaissance charm intact, whilst more recent touches have added their own character, like 19th-century frescoes, marble fireplaces, a bibliophile’s library, and contemporary lighting and furnishings. The estate has also developed a wellness and fitness programme combining holistic rituals, yoga and massages, available as one-off sessions or as multi-day retreats amongst shaded swimming pools. With sunrise come the aromas of bread and pastries baked on-site, as you make your way from the terraces through the gardens to the lounges. Da Giacomo restaurant offers its own take on modern Italian cuisine, with delicate flavours enhanced by the freshness of the day’s catch and vegetables from a kitchen garden – an authentic work of land art created by the contemporary artist Michelangelo Pistoletto.
