Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires

Between La Recoleta and El Retiro, the outside of this residence begs the question as to whether or not guests are really in Buenos Aires at all. Reminiscent of a private mansion in Paris, the façade of Palacio Duhau embodies a distinctively French neoclassical style within the Argentine capital. Designed in 1934, the property unfolds like an aristocratic mansion house, with grand reception spaces like the Salón Crystal, inspired by the Petit Trianon, landscaped gardens featuring reflecting pools and fountains, and colonnades facing the modern building on the Posadas side. The two sections are connected by an underground passageway designed like an art gallery, where guests might come across sculptures by Manolo Valdés and Guillermo Roux’s La Ronda. Suites overlook either Avenida Alvear or the gardens, reflecting that same blend of grand European estate influences and refined residential character. Finally, the dining experience, just like the spa, evokes a sense of ceremonial hospitality, featuring dry-aged meats grilled for sharing at Duhau Restaurante & Vinoteca, and the Ragiantu Ceremony ritual at Ahin Spa.
