The Berkeley’s heated rooftop swimming pool overlooks, Hyde Park from Wilton Place. Below, Rémi Tessier has designed a kitchen for Cédric Grolet, the hotel’s pastry chef-in-residence, in white stone and polished steel beneath a ceiling gilded with gold leaf. The scale-like tiles echo the apple slices from the tarts of his childhood, and the counter displays trompe-l’œil fruit and flowers, right down to a scone created as a tribute to Great Britain. La Môme London brings its Riviera-inspired cuisine to the table, whilst afternoon tea at the Berkeley Café has become a quintessential London moment.
