Scholar at Sir John Soane's Museum
Not many people know of Sir John Soane, but you have certainly seen the impact of his work all around you. He was the architect who designed the Bank of England and revolutionized commercial architecture, and his home and studio in Lincoln’s Inn Fields is a testament to his genius and unique sense of taste. And to walk us through the man’s incredible story, is Helen Dorey. When Lartisien met with Helen, it was as clear as day that she knew the museum and its history like the back of her hand, with over 30 years of experience at the museum behind her.
The life and home of Sir John Soane
With this immersion, Lartisien has secured, exclusively, an after-hour tour of Sir John’s extraordinary abode, after the sun sets and when Lincoln’s Inn Fields is finally quiet. Inside the historic house, you will be joined by Helen for an atmospheric journey throughout the premises, wandering through the corridors and the rooms, and taking in the design and décor. At the end of the tour, an authentic Victorian reception -just like Sir John Soane used to throw- will be reenacted, with drinks and conversation like the times of salon gatherings.
