Wandering the streets of Venice, you could look at Marilisa’s shop and think of it as a souvenir outlet. However, you couldn’t be further from the truth. Marilisa is the custodian of a long-lasting tradition, the masks of the Carnival of Venice. She creates most of her masks respecting at each step the traditional techniques of Venetian mask making. Each step is done with great care and passion. What we loved about Marilisa is her humility… for her, the satisfaction of excellence is not something to parade. And her love for what she does is contagious.

You could count on one hand the number of craftsmen who can still make the masks in the traditional way and Marilisa is one of them. In this immersion, enjoy a private meeting with Marilisa and a tour of her fantastical workshop-boutique in the heart of Venice. During this meeting you will be able to learn from her how the real Venetian masks are created masks are created, her unique journey into this craft, and the origins and secrets of this art.
