In the heart of the Cognac region, carved out of former wine cellars, the residence pays homage to its birthplace by weaving subtle links between heritage and modern elegance. Architect Didier Poignant brought in playful references to history and contemporary ingenuity, like a glass lift gliding through a translucent tube, cleverly evoking a still. A certain French classicism adorns the rooms and suites, showcasing fine, natural materials. Nature takes centre stage on the menu at the Michelin-starred restaurant Les Foudres, which showcases its creativity through a culinary journey inspired by a stroll along the paths of the Charente. In the bar, mixologists work beneath the vaulted ceilings of the former cooperage at Maison de Cognac Monnet.
