Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort

There is something of a Hamptons family home about this stretch of Saadiyat, only everything is on a much grander scale. The sea is never far from the interiors: the Bohemian crystal chandelier in the lobby catches blue reflections, while the villas open onto broad terraces and uninterrupted views of the water. White, blue and soft grey keep the palette light from one space to the next. The island’s wilder side is close at hand, too. Wander through the mangroves and, with a little luck, dolphins and turtles will appear in the shallows. At Mare Mare, Italy comes to the table in the form of grilled langoustines, vegetables and lemon, while Tean takes a more eclectic approach to fish, serving it as mezze, grilled or generously spiced. And then there is the Louvre Abu Dhabi, just a short distance away, for a landscape of an altogether different kind.
