Les Prés d'Eugénie
In Eugénie-les-Bains, old roses and the water garden set the tone at Les Prés d'Eugénie. In 1974, Christine and Michel Guérard created the hotel equivalent of a family home here, where immaculate canopy beds rub shoulders with wall tapestries, open fires and a plethora of hydrangeas — as befits the Landes. At L'Orangerie, the glass roof opens onto a baroque fountain; after a famous "Cuisine de Santé" lunch, the kaolin baths of the Ferme Thermale take over from the lapping waters. The hosts have also restored a Beach House a short drive from the estate, facing the dune and the pines, for when the open sea beckons.
