It's so nice when a historical hotel gets the balance just right. The right level of luxury, impeccable service, all the plumbing is new and works, but the ambiance has not been lost. So, the woodwork is old and heavy but freshly varnished, there is original tiling. This is all helped by the way the original and later blocks complement each other so well in overall design. The airport limo pick up was faultless, the concierge remembers your name and was very helpful. Only downside was that the Restaurant Le Royal has not yet reopened. Special mention for the breakfast buffet. So many establishments have moved away from the full-blown buffet, but here everything you could want is available from Champaign to hot bread and butter pudding.

Great hotel. Wish breakfast had more genuinely healthy and vegan options ( we brought our own food as there were no suitable choices) Temporary gym was far too small. Despite this would definitely stay again. :)

Lovely hotel, staff all very friendly and helpful. Especially breakfast and pool staff. Manager welcome was a great touch and ensured we had a very positive impression from the start of our stay.
