Villa La Coste

In the heart of an organically farmed vineyard estate between Aix-en-Provence and the Luberon, Villa La Coste is best explored on foot. There are no signposts, but over 40 artworks and five exhibition pavilions are scattered amongst the vineyards, olive groves and woods, and visitors wander from one to the next all the way to Louison. Florent Pietravalle, who hails from La Mirande in Avignon, reinterprets the Provençal repertoire here: aigo boulido transformed into a rockfish stew, a 17th-century rustic dish reimagined as bread jelly with caviar, featuring the estate’s own foraged ingredients, juniper and fermented products.

Accommodations

What we like

The curation

Immersion in the estate's art collection, from Sophie Calle to Jean-Michel Othoniel.

The panorama

The mineral quality of the suites in the garrigue, with views of the Provençal hills.

The flavour

Over a dish of tomatoes or in the focaccia, the estate's olive oil alone is worth the journey.
