Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam

Six stately 17th- and 18th-century façades line the Herengracht. Behind them, the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam conceals a garden on a scale rarely seen in the city, enclosed at the far end by its historic Tea House. The building’s banking heritage has left behind a vault, which has been transformed into the Vault Bar. In the hotel’s workshop, stroopwafels are crafted and decorated before being served with tea. At the Goldfinch Brasserie, Pasquale Carfora cooks with seasonal ingredients overlooking the gardens, and on certain evenings the hotel opens the Rijksmuseum after closing time, with a guide leading guests to the Dutch masters.
