Le Meurice

Le Meurice

Le Meurice opened in 1835 under the arches of Rue de Rivoli, opposite the Jardins des Tuileries, and the gardens have found their way into the rooms; the painted garden in the custom Gournay wallpaper mirrors the real one. The Salon Pompadour — where Picasso celebrated his marriage to Olga Khokhlova on 12 July 1918, with Jean Cocteau as witness — has retained its 1907 appearance. Dalí was a guest at the hotel for one month a year for three decades, staying in the former royal suite of Alphonse XIII. Both a suite and the central restaurant, beneath its glass dome, now bear his name.
