The villa, built on lands tied to Innocent XI, holds history to be discovered without fanfare in the softness of this singular house. In the morning, you gather eggs and fruit from the orchard before heading out onto the lake aboard the Giumello, an elegant mahogany launch, or the Didi, wrapped in Loro Piana fabrics. At the pool lounge, La DoubleJ brings a brighter note. Under the damp vaults of the Palazz, treatments unfold in the spirit of slow time. At table, Viviana Varese favours sharing. The morning eggs might show up at lunch; come evening, the cypresses stretch out the lake's silence and Bellini's melancholy.
